Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What can I expect from a Palette Strokes Party event?

A: With Palette Strokes you can enjoy a relaxing social group setting for all ages, unless specifically specified as an adult only event, where the lead artist will walk you through the steps of the session’s featured painting. During the event, you will be astounded by the beautiful artwork you created. Class times will vary according to the date and location (refer to the schedule), but typically, each session usually lasts about 2 – 2 1/2 hours.

Q: How can I register for a Palette Strokes painting event?

A: Click on the event you choose; click on the highlighted name of the painting you want. Fill out the registration form, add your credit card number and Captcha Code. You will receive an email confirmation.

Q: What if I don’t know how to paint and have never tried it?

A: NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY! You do not need any art experience to enjoy painting with the group. We will guide you through the painting process, step by step. No two painting are ever alike and you will leave with the satisfaction of knowing that you created a beautiful piece of art ready to hang. These classes are fun for the novice or experienced painters as well.

Q: Is there an age limit?

A: The ages will be posted with each painting event as sometimes adults just need to break loose. As there is no age limit unless it is noted as a 21 and over event, we do ask that children be of an age where they can listen, follow direction, and not run around for a couple of hours. We cater the paintings more specific to youngsters on the Saturday Family Geneva Paint with Palette Strokes event and would recommend that a parent paint with the really young ones. So, unless noted, children are welcome.

Q: Should I sign up in advance?

A: Signing up in advance is necessary and always recommended as we cannot guarantee that we will have the supplies or room available if we are not expecting you. We encourage you to register on the website in advance if at all possible or give us a call and we can help you through the process. Early registration is necessary as some sessions have both a minimum and maximum occupancy.

Q: Is it possible to keep our group together?

A: ABSOLUTELY! Simply include the party name in the company name field when you register. We have been so disappointed when going to other events that our group has been separated that we will do everything possible to ensure that all groups remain together.

Q: What is the cost of a session and what is included in the price?

A: The price is generally $25.00 for the session and the painting. All painters are provided a pre-stretched 16 x 20 canvas (unless otherwise stated), paints, brushes, easels, aprons, and ongoing instruction. Prices could vary depending on event so be sure and look when signing up.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Aprons are provided but accidents do happen. Just having a painting rub against your clothes could leave a mark for good. Wear something that you wouldn’t mind getting paint on if it were to happen. Please leave your nice handbags or purses at home. Paint can splash and drip. Remember, tears are not allowed. We generally use water based acrylics and when it dries it will not come out easily. Skin is easily cleaned so no need for gloves. 😉

Q: What time do I need to arrive for a class?

A: We would recommend you arriving 15-30 minutes early to get checked in and settled, especially if you’re painting with a larger group as we want all groups together.

Q: Do I have to paint the painting scheduled for that night?

A: ABSOLUTELY NOT. You are free to paint whatever you want and can always change the color palette. You are in control of your painting as the artist so allow your creativity to shine.

Q: Are we allowed to drink and/or eat?

A: We encourage you to do this. A glass of wine or beer in one hand and a paint brush in the other can make a gorgeous painting! Most venues, except for our Family Saturday, provide a wide assortment of wines and beer/cocktails, and also non-alcoholic options. We try to keep the cost down for the session so you can enjoy a drink or two, fabulous appetizers, and/or a meal.

Forest Ray of LightQ: I missed a painting that I really want to paint! How often will you repeat paintings?

A: Let us know what you would like to paint so we can keep this in mind when scheduling our next events. We try and repeat them as practice makes perfection. 😉

Q: Do you offer private parties?

A: Yes. Team Building sessions are a wonderful way to unlock creativity of each individual while working together as a group. We offer almost any event you can imagine. Birthday parties can be a blast and customized to you. Give us a call and let us work with you.

Q: Do you offer Discounts?

A: We will be starting a Frequent Painter Program that we will maintain for you. After you have paid for 5 sessions, you will have the 6th on us!!  Frequent cards are available.

Palette Strokes reserves the right to cancel if less than 8 painters sign up for a session. Please be sure that your contact information you have entered is correct so we can inform you of any schedule changes.
